If you could host a dinner and anyone you invite was sure to come, who would you invite?

If I organize a dinner, I will invite my special friends. Because we get a chance to sit and eat with family members every day. But friends never come to eat without being invited. The most important thing is that when all the friends come, it will be a different kind of gathering. Laughter, fun, jokes, and many such things that will refresh my mind and heart. I am fond of cooking and serving food like this. If my friends come, I will cook their favorite dishes and feed them. Sometimes when I invite friends to my house, then we all form a circle in a big plate and eat together. That day my happiness knows no bounds. We eat a lot of food while talking.

Patience is necessary to maintain a relationship

Tolerance is very important for maintaining a good relationship. Like every husband and wife, we also have petty fights. Not only husband and wife, but every relationship in this world is decided by God for us. We humans are just puppets in His hands. This principle of rebirth continues in the form of a cycle with our relationships, connections etc. Someone is a friend, someone is an enemy, someone is a lover. Someone is a husband, someone is a wife. Someone is a mother or father, someone is a brother or sister. Relationships may be formed by chance, but both the husband and wife have to make a lot of efforts to maintain them. I feel that there should not be any kind of secrecy in married life. If husband and wife share everything of their heart with each other like good friends, then the sweetness of the relationship remains.

Who initiated the marriage?

Aryans or Vedic Rishis were the first to introduce social systems on earth to civilize humans and tie people into a civilized society. Rishis challenged the bestial system in later times and considering it as bestial relationship, made new marriage rules. There is a reference of Rishi Swetaketu in Vedic literature that he established the marriage system to protect dignity and from then on the family system started. If there is no marriage, then there is no family. The practice of marriage was started by Vedic Rishis in ancient times itself. Living life only after marriage is a sign of being civilized. Marriage ceremony is the ‘Trayodash Sanskar’ in Hindu religious rituals. Postgraduate life is the time of marriage, that is, after studying, one has to get married and enter the householder’s stage. ‘Brahma Vivaah’ is considered one of the 16 rituals of Hindus. Only husband and wife together form a family. Only a strong family can form a clan and this is how the social structure develops, like a tree flourishes only when its roots are firmly planted in the ground. That tree becomes hollow if there is separation within it and gets uprooted in the storms of life. 7 rounds and 7 vows are prevalent in Hinduism. Probably that is why this belief has come into vogue that the relationship of husband and wife lasts for 7 births, so do they get separated in the 8th birth? Or were they in a relationship with someone else before this first birth or is this the 7th birth for both of them?

There are many people who do not marry in a proper Vedic Hindu way but marry in some other arbitrary way. They do not even care about the Muhurta, time, Ashtakoot matching, Mangaldosha etc. Its bad consequences are also visible automatically. Actually, marriage in Hinduism is not only a sanskar but it is a completely scientific method which ensures the future life of a person and which gives a right condition and direction to his future. In Hinduism, marriage is not a contract or agreement, rather it is a spiritual relationship which is decided after careful thinking and knowing the destiny and present on the basis of astrology. There is no transaction of any kind in this marriage.

What does the relationship between Shiva and Parvati teach us?

Lord Shiva loved his wife Sati so much that he could not live without her even for a moment. Similarly, Mata Sati was so full of love for her husband Shiva that she could not bear his insult in her father’s yagya and committed suicide. But it was this love that reunited Sati with Shiva in her next birth. She was born as Parvati and eventually she got all the memories of her previous birth. Lord Shiva, who was antaryaami, knew everything.Similarly, if your wife or husband has been your partner in your previous birth, then definitely you will have a different kind of love and respect for him or her and he or she will have a different kind of love and respect for you, which will be understood only after looking deeply. Take some time out from this hectic life and look into the eyes of your wife or husband.

There are 4 types of minds inside our mind – one conscious mind, second unconscious mind, third subconscious mind, fourth collective mind. The subconscious mind is called the cosmic mind in which the memories and accumulated karmas of all our previous and future births are stored. In Hindu marriage, more importance is given to the spiritual relationship between husband and wife than the physical relationship and this relationship is established by religious marriage and keeping in mind the vows and rounds of that marriage and by gaining faith. For a person who has not studied religion, spirituality and philosophy in his childhood, marriage is just a sacrament.

My Fix time to sleep and wake up

What time do you go to bed and wake up currently?

Since childhood, we have been hearing ‘Early to bed and early to rise’, that is, sleeping early at night and waking up early in the morning is beneficial for both health and wealth. But due to busy lifestyle, people now sleep and wake up as per their convenience. The habit of waking up early in the morning and sleeping early at night can get rid of many health problems. But due to busy lifestyle, it becomes very difficult to follow it.

I wake up every day at 6:00 am. Morning walk and exercise are part of my daily routine. After that I work for the whole day, and then go to bed at 11:00 pm. On Saturday night we sleep a little late and wake up late on Sunday morning. Waking up too early is not my cup of tea. Because by doing this I don’t get enough sleep. And then I feel tired all day. I have been following this routine for many years. Perhaps I will continue to do the same in the coming days as well.

You must have often seen that after worship in homes and temples, Pandit ji ties a red colored thread on our wrists and, many of us get it tied on our hands without realizing its need. Actually, the Mauli thread is not just any thread, rather, it is prepared from raw cotton and, it is in many colors like red, black, yellow or saffron. People usually tie Mauli on the wrist of the hand. And, it is believed that by tying Mauli on the hand, a person gets the blessings of Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh and the three goddesses – Lakshmi, Parvati and Saraswati.

It is said that by tying a Mauli thread on the hand, a person is protected from evil eyes because God protects him. And, this is said because tying a Mauli thread on the hand blesses a person’s health because, by tying this thread on the wrist, there is harmony between the Vata, Pitta and Kapha doshas in the body. And, this harmony is achieved because the main control of the body’s structure is in the wrist. You must have seen that doctors primarily use the vein of the wrist to measure blood pressure and heart rate. That is why scientifically, the Mauli thread tied on the hand works like an acupressure and protects a person from serious diseases like blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and paralysis to a great extent and the person tying it remains healthy.

Raksha Sutra is tied on the right hand of men and unmarried girls and on the left hand of married women. The hand in which Kalava or Mauli is tied should be clenched and the other hand should be on the head. For this pious work, one should be observant and have the feeling of accepting responsibility. If new clothes are not worn while worshiping, then Mauli must be worn in the hand. Have faith in religion. On Tuesday or Saturday, remove the old Mauli and wear a new one. Raksha Sutra protects us even in times of crisis.

The tradition of tying Kalava is going on since the time when Lord Vaman tied a protective thread on the wrist of the great and foremost donor Maharaj Bali for his immortality. It is also tied on the body as a protective shield. Before any auspicious work or before any worship, Tilak is applied and Raksha Sutra is tied on the hands and then the worship is started. It is said that when Indra was going to fight with Vritrasura, Indrani Shachi tied a sacred thread on Indra’s right arm as a protective shield and Indra won the war. Since then, this protective thread is tied. The obstacles of its ritual are removed.
Similarly, wealth is obtained from Lakshmi, power from Durga and wisdom from the grace of Saraswati.

Why is the thread wrapped three times?

To remind you that there are three responsibilities or debts on your shoulders – responsibility towards parents, responsibility towards society and responsibility towards knowledge. These are our three responsibilities or debts. We are indebted to our parents, we are indebted to society, and we are indebted to the Guru; that is, towards knowledge. So these are three types of debts, and Yagyopaveet reminds us of these three responsibilities. When we say ‘debt’, we think it is a loan which we have to repay. But we should understand it as a responsibility. To remember our responsibilities, towards the previous generation, towards the coming generation and towards the present generation. And that is why, you wrap the thread three times.

What strategies do you use to increase comfort in your daily life?

Everyone performs different activities in their daily routine like bathing, eating, cooking, grooming, cleaning etc. Such activities help us to function effectively in life. But apart from these we should also do something that can make our daily life organized.

I believe in keeping a clean mindset to increase comfort in my day to day life. For this I wake up early in the morning and do exercise and meditation. Meditation makes me aware of both my weaknesses and strengths. By doing this, I feel a simple attitude and satisfaction throughout the day which helps me in carrying out my responsibilities both at home and outside.Meditation can give you a sense of peace, relaxation and balance that can benefit your emotional health and your overall well-being. You can also use it to relax and deal with stress by focusing on something that calms you.

We meet so many people throughout the day, some of them make us happy and some make us sad. By meditating, I am able to balance myself with all these things very quickly. And exercise helps me to work harder. It also helps me to spend a pain-free day.

Apart from this, I also like to spend some time with friends. Friends are such balm, which sometimes heals your wounds easily. But for this, true friendship is necessary.

What are you most excited about for the future?

In our religion, we are taught to follow the path of religion from childhood. In childhood, we are excited to study and become a successful person in our future. We work hard and achieve our goals one day. Then we enjoy all the comforts while living with family. But sometimes, apart from all these things, there is a longing in our mind to do something else. Similarly, I also want to do something in my future which will give peace to my mind. I am most excited about walking on the path of enlightenment and gaining complete knowledge. I am eager to study ancient spiritual texts to deepen my understanding and knowledge. I believe in Hinduism. I want to study all the many books written in our religion, about which I have heard from my father. I have a hobby of going to libraries in India and abroad and reading them. I am also very fond of traveling. In this way, both my hobbies will be fulfilled.

For the future, I am most excited about social contribution. When I get retired then I want to do a lot for my society. I want that our society should be such where all people get equal rights and respect. Here all people should be united and support each other, whether they are poor or rich, there should be no discrimination on the basis of caste, religion, or gender. There should be a feeling of justice, equality, and cooperation in the society, so that everyone can develop and everyone has a good future. I pray to God everyday that he should make my future dreams come true.

We know about only two Navratris that occur in a year, Chaitra or Vasantik Navratri and Ashwin or Sharadiya Navratri. Apart from this, there are two more Navratris in which special wishes are fulfilled. Due to less people knowing about it or because it is hidden, it is called Gupt Navratri. According to the Hindu calendar, Navratri comes in 4 holy months in a year. These four months are:- Magh, Chaitra, Ashadha and Ashwin. Navratri of Chaitra month is called Badi or Basant Navratri and Navratri of Ashwin month is called Choti Navratri or Sharadiya Navratri. There is a gap of 6 months between the two. The remaining two Navratris of Ashadha and Magh months are called Gupt Navratri.

Gupt means hidden. In this Navratri, sadhana is done for the siddhi of secret knowledge. Tantra sadhanas are important in Gupt Navratri and tantra sadhana is done secretly. That is why it is called Gupt Navratri. In this, special wishes are accomplished. It is called Gupt Navratri because the sadhaks have knowledge of it or because it is hidden.

Vasant and Sharad Navratri are for householders and common people but Gupt Navratri is for saints and sadhaks. This is the Navratri of sadhana, not of celebration. That is why special kind of worship and sadhana is important in this. This Navratri is for the siddhi of tantra-mantra for a special wish. By doing special worship in Gupt Navratri, one can get rid of many types of sorrows. Aghor tantric people worship in Gupt Navratri to achieve Mahavidyas. This Navratri is also done with the desire of salvation. By doing special worship in Gupt Navratri, one can get rid of many types of sorrows. In Pratyaksh Navratri, Navdurga is worshipped, but in Gupt Navratri, ten Mahavidyas are worshipped. In Pratyaksh Navratri, Satvik Sadhna, dance and celebration are celebrated, whereas in Gupt Navratri, Tantric Sadhna and strict fasting are important. Pratyaksh Navratri is celebrated for the fulfillment of worldly desires, whereas Gupt Navratri is celebrated for the fulfillment of spiritual desires, siddhi, moksha. It is also said that Pratyaksh Navratri is of Vaishnavs and Gupt Navratri is of Shaivites and Shaktas. The main goddess of Pratyaksh Navratri is Maa Parvati, whereas the main goddess of Gupt Navratri is Maa Kali. It is believed that Navratri coming in Ashadh and Magh is named Gupt Navratri because in this, Sadhna is done for the siddhi of Gupt Vidyas. In Gupt Navratri, Tantra Sadhnas are important, which are done secretly, hence it is called Gupt Navratri.

Why is Gupt Navratri special?

Gupt Navratri is special in many ways. There is a law to worship Maa Durga on this day. If you also have any family dispute, then you can also improve your life in this Navratri. If you want to get rid of family disputes, then definitely worship Maa Durga in this Gupt Navratri. No one likes disputes, fights, bad atmosphere in the house. If there is dispute in the house all the time, then even Lakshmi ji does not live in that house. A good atmosphere in the house is very important for the progress of the house, your progress as well as for the children. If there is a fight every day in your house, there is dispute or the atmosphere of the house is bad, then this Gupt Navratri will prove to be a prison for you. To increase happiness, prosperity and respect, light a ghee lamp in front of Maa Durga every night in Gupt Navratri and offer a garland of red flowers to the mother. Along with this, offer any silver item at the feet of the mother. By doing this, success, happiness, prosperity, joy and love increase.

Meat and alcohol should not be consumed at all during Gupt Navratri. Also keep away from onion and garlic during this time, Tamasik food creates problems in life, when you are worshipping the Mother Goddess during Gupt Navratri, you should not hurt anyone’s feelings. You should not use abusive language against anyone, take great care not to sleep during the day during Gupt Navratri, because doing so makes the Goddess angry. Also, celibacy should be followed during these days.
