What does the third eye mean in spiritual terms?
What science calls pineal gland is called Ajna Chakra in spirituality. You must have heard mention of Kundalini Shakti in Vedas and Puranas. It is said that Mahadev, the God of Gods, is the only God from whose eyes the truth can never be hidden. Due to which Mahadev is also called Param Brahm. According to astrology, this third eye of Mahadev is the eye of knowledge, it is said to be the symbol of prudence i.e. intelligence. It is also believed that as soon as the third eye of Lord Shiva opens, the entire creation will be destroyed. In other words no one can withstand the wrath of Mahadev and everything will be destroyed.
