In our religious texts, Guru in Guru means darkness or ignorance and Ru means light. That is, the one who removes ignorance and takes it towards knowledge is called a guru. God is realized by the grace of the Guru, nothing is possible without the Guru’s grace. Adiguru Parameshwara Shiva in the form of Dakshinamurti had given Shiva the knowledge of Shiva as a disciple to all the sages. Remembering him, Guru Purnima is celebrated. Every year the full moon date of Ashadh month is dedicated to the Guru and on this day devotees worship their Guru. There is a religious belief that it is necessary to have a guru for success in life. According to Hindu religious belief, the great sage Ved Vyas ji, the author of Mahabharata, was born on this day, due to which it is also known as Vyas Purnima.
In many traditions and ways of life, the master is often seen as a source of knowledge, guidance and inspiration. Guru or teacher is the person who helps people to walk on the path of spiritual development and knowledge, helps them to overcome obstacles in the path which can come in the form of ignorance, ego and so on. Guru has always been the guide of man. By removing ignorance, by giving the light of knowledge, the work of taking it to the door of salvation is done by the Guru. The knowledge and education of the Guru is the basis of life. The imagination of life without a guru is also incomplete. According to the Sanatan concept, parents may give birth to a man in this world, but the true meaning of man is obtained only by Guru’s grace. Along with the behavior of the Guru, the world is also a star, a guide.
Is Guru essential for everyone?
Guru is essential for everyone. The guru who can differentiate the truth-untrue, knowledge and ignorance, his detailed knowledge should be so much that he is the knower of all the circumstances, only then he can become a guide. You can plant his knowledge only when you have great faith in him. That faith is the same, with the help of which Eklavya became a skilled archer considering the statue of Dronacharya as real and Ramkrishna Paramhansa, with the reverence with which he used to offer bhog in the stone’s Mahakali. In our life, two streams of Pragya and Shraddha run simultaneously. Therefore, we should also respect those who are wise and those who are reverent are also our heritage. Guru Purnima is the day of renaissance of the relationship between this Shraddhavan and Pragyavan. Guru is generally a great human, by whose grace a human attains real life prosperity, attains spiritual purity, attains intensity. For social, moral and intellectual progress, it is necessary for every person to have a ‘guru’. Today’s man is more comfortable, resourceful. He cannot imagine how deprivation a person was a few hundred years ago today. But if we look at it from the point of view of happiness and satisfaction, today man has become more humble, dirty than before. The reason is that there are misconceptions in the social, moral, intellectual fields, there is a conduct that brings down human dignity, the breaking traditions of limits have stuck so much that the source of sensation in the individual and the family is drying up.
How can a guru get rid of depression?
More than twenty percent of the world’s population, who is adults, is suffering from depression somewhere. To get rid of depression, we can say ‘Doctor’ in Guru or in another form. With this dedication and reverence on Guru Purnima, we should look for a capable Guru to remove the obstacles in the path of our moral, intellectual and social development. The knowledge given by Lord Shiva to the sages was the initial step of this Guru Purnima. Its meaning was also that anyone can be a guru. It is expedient to mention here because Dattatreya had taken knowledge by calling trees, plants, wind, sky, ant, elephant, sea, river, etc. Here is the description of the Virat form of the Guru. Everywhere everywhere its attainment and its consciousness, which shows an attempt to improve you. Even in today’s scientific age, all the researchers, as many scientists, as many as trainers, in different dimensions of life. There is a need for us, faith and dedication. His disorders become safe. His state of mind begins to attain perfection in itself. The doors of his spiritual progress open up. Morality fraternity love starts coming in his mind spontaneously. The solution of all the problems of today comes to him from a visionary point of view for him, the proof of that. Difference comes from inspiration and it is only through inspiration that man moves forward. Guru is the source of new construction and especially if a guru is made in the householder, then it is more important, because this ashram gives the resource of everyone’s life. The burden of curiosities is removed by the darshan of the Guru, the pride ends.
Who is the true master?
A true guru is one who takes both spirituality and progress together in two hands, because without spirituality and without progress the path of true development cannot be paved. The Guru provides the way of getting confused and not solving. Guru is the only formula for attaining self-confidence and self-power. In general, if thought in the philosophy of life, like a vessel is smelted before it is molded and then cast is done, the Guru does the same smelting and casting in our life easily. But faith is necessary. If you have faith, your work will go on increasing. Guru is the only basis which gives the consciousness of God in the inert images that are in front of you. Provides the spirit of the controller. The pain of the nation always remains to a true guru. The whole nation’s pain is visible in his mind. He never talks of person upliftment, Madan Mohan Malviya, Maharishi Arvind, Ramakrishna etc. It is generally said in us that if a guru with goodwill holds the hand of a curious person, then sadhna will be proved all in all.
