Some of us feel we deserve this luxury and enjoy this shameless luxury. Some indulge in it, but then think maybe they shouldn’t. Some can’t afford it, but still want it. And for many, it’s just unthinkable. Of course, the recession makes luxury retail even more challenging.“Selling things people don’t need at a time when many are being ethically urged to examine their spending patterns is a very interesting time.” A global survey has revealed that two out of every three people buy luxury items for themselves regularly but a third feel bad about it. Many luxury-loving people are eager to show off their purchases. Nearly half of respondents said they prefer to buy items with designer logos, especially in India, Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates.
One of the forty-seven-year-old millionaire in Singapore wrote, ‘I often have to go abroad and I fly with everyone in economy class. Someone asked me, why do you still travel in economy class after being so rich? I reply, that’s why I’m the richest in Singapore. ‘
Another very precious word he said, ‘Luxury really has no end. No luxury can kill your satisfaction. Like, buying a ‘Gucci’ bag, your pleasure. Then but you’ll like another expensive bag, you’ll buy it, then another one–it’s actually the Never Ending Process. ‘
I am writing this, for myself. When we middle class people see a little bit of finance, we want to fulfill many unfulfilled wishes of life. I have this problem too. Many of us have.
We grow up in middle class family. Then stand up with the pain. Then it seems, life is only one; so, let’s buy what we could not buy under the limitations of middle class. It’s not just me, it’s the problem of many. Now it seems, this is one of the biggest mistakes in life. Because no ‘buy’ can actually bring someone’s ultimate satisfaction. After ‘Gucci’ shoes, we will want to buy ‘Armani’. ‘Barbari’ after Armani. If I buy iPhone 12, I will want to buy iPhone 13 next year.
This is how one’s financial consistency is destroyed. Destruction is the purity of the soul. The false race starts to raise money to buy these, with no finishing point. Yet if I had spent a luxury on an endangered student- it might have contributed hundreds of years. Used to spend on a patient, he might have had a few more days to get his kids organized. Yet, I chase shit, shoes, pen, watches, glasses.
Didn’t run after people.
Actually no money is ours, it is the money of society. So when spending money we should think, how to spend this money not just me, we will all benefit. He made me a ‘villain’ to himself.
