Is the meaning of human life only in being desireless?

The human body is the best gift of God. We have got this body after wandering in so many births according to the deeds of our previous births. The anatomy of no creature in the world is as excellent as that of man. God has given man a body endowed with all qualities. Each and every part of it, each and every sense is unique in its functionality.

Most people consider this body to be everything and do not feel the need to think beyond it. They keep decorating this body all the time and keep on satisfying their senses. Most people forget the soul present in it. They forget that the body is mortal but the soul is immortal. The body gets destroyed, God has graciously given it to us only for some time. This is just a means, the abode of the soul through which it can attain salvation by walking on the path of salvation. What is the goal of human life?  Most people consider attainment of heaven as their only goal. But; where is this heaven? It is determined and created by our state of mind. We ourselves create the state of heaven or hell on the basis of our conduct and circumstances. It is necessary that we set a clear goal of our life. The only goal of life is to firmly express the latent divinity within us and realize our real existence. There is only one God sitting within everyone and he is the inner soul of everyone. He is the giver of the results of actions and he is inside everyone. Every human being is a form of God, due to circumstances he has strayed from his path, after knowing this great truth, the ultimate goal of man is to inculcate this divinity in his conduct.

A life of wisdom is the true human life. There is no place for desire and useless thinking in it. The reason is that neither these two lead to our welfare nor make the society beautiful. It is proved that every desire arises from disrespect for one’s own knowledge. Desire is another name for the interest in taking pleasure from a person, object, situation, situation etc. The essence of curiosity cannot be called desire, because its fulfillment is not possible with any object etc. Love also cannot be called desire, because selflessness is inherent in its nature. Yoga also cannot be called desire, because only when there is no desire and thinking, eternal yoga is possible. By being free from desire, all problems – physical, social and mental – can be solved. Making good use of the situation is not desire. It is devotion to duty. Desire binds a person only in thinking about the future and future, it does not solve any problem.  The root cause of the social problems that are before us today is that we dream of solving the problem by misusing power and disrespecting prudence – which is never possible. Every sensible person knows this very well and must also agree that problems cannot be solved due to weakness and ignorance. The thing that is achieved by hard work and action cannot be achieved by mere wishing and thinking. For that, one has to be industrious.

For the welfare of ourselves and the society, it is essential that selfishness be transformed into a sense of service. To get life from things, we have to make good use of the things we get and serve people, that is, we have to protect the rights of others and sacrifice our own rights through our actions. By doing this, attachment to things will also disappear. By erasing attachment, selfishness will disappear and as soon as selfishness disappears, the awakening of the sense of service will happen automatically. After the awakening of the sense of service, there is nothing left for the seeker to do or achieve. It is important to keep in mind that love arises only when there is no desire. The reason is that only the seeker who does not want enjoyment and salvation gets love. Everyone must agree that without love, there is no increase in rasa, without realization of the element, immortality is not attained and without the tendency for the welfare of all, the creation of a beautiful society and world peace is impossible. Therefore, it is proved beyond doubt that the meaning of human life lies in being desireless.  Remember, every person is free to be free of desires. A person’s life is his own, he has to decorate it himself. We cannot live by imitating others. In society we have to live with others for some time but when we are in our own home, then only our mind is with us. At that time we get the support of our Sadhana only. And when we have to live with the Sadhana of our mind, then why don’t we make our mind such a Kalpavriksha, such a Kamadhenu, that the contemplation of our life can become fertile.

It is essential to have both materialism and spirituality in life. Materialism is the means and spirituality is the end. The meaning of life lies in considering the body as the means and planning the life program. Your usefulness to the society is the meaning of your life. We are born for a specific purpose and the fulfillment of that purpose is the meaning of life. We do not know that purpose, so by proving useful to the society, the purpose is fulfilled somewhere. The essence of life is your ultimate truth. Once you adopt the essence, life becomes meaningful. In simple words, it should give you peace, make you feel alive and fulfill your purpose. For some people it may be bringing peace or spreading love. The meaning of life lies in sacrificing your life for others without expecting any reward. It helps us to build good relationships with the people around us.
