Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi, who made the Indian land proud, was an ideal heroine in the true sense. Laxmibai was known as Manubai in her childhood. Maharani Laxmibai was born in Kashi on 19 November 1835. Her father Moropant Tambe was dependent on Chiknaji Appa. Her mother’s name was Bhagirathi Bai.

The heroic and courageous personality of Rani Lakshmi Bai became very famous during the Indian freedom struggle. As the queen of Jhansi, she fought valiantly with her subjects and fought against the British Empire. During the 1857 freedom struggle, she took over the power of Jhansi after the death of her husband Gandhiji and played her role as a strong female fighter. She took strong steps to protect the people of Jhansi and fought against the British Empire. Lakshmi Bai died on 17 June 1858, when she sacrificed her life for her country while fighting with strength and courage in Gwalior. She set an example for the women fighters of the Indian freedom struggle with her bravery and dedication.
