Man is a social animal, despite this he has always had a special attachment to creatures other than his own.  Man feels a different satisfaction and happiness by keeping other living beings with him.  To overcome the emptiness of life and to keep themselves busy, humans keep animals, birds and other creatures with them. Pets are the closest to humans.  Humans can choose pets as per their convenience and need, according to their environment, attachment and busy life routine.

In my view, if you want to keep a pet, then dog is a very loyal animal. The special qualities of dogs differentiate them from other animals.  Their sense of smell is very accurate.  Police also take the help of dogs in catching criminals.  Special training is given to dogs of special species for this.  For this reason, in case of natural disaster like accident, earthquake etc., they are helpful for the police and relief and rescue workers.  They help save lives by smelling people buried under debris.  Instead of calling dogs as humans’ pets, it would be better to call them man’s true friends.  Apart from always being the companion of the owner, they also play the role of protector very well.
