Why do women sit on the left in Yagya?

Performing Yagya is an eternal tradition. According to scientific facts, the disease causing germs around the place where Havan is performed are destroyed quickly. In the scriptures, Agni Dev has been considered a medium for the welfare of the world, which is reflected in the Homa given by us. The offerings are made to the Gods and Goddesses. Due to which the gods are satisfied and complete the work of the doer.

There are many beliefs regarding worship in Hindu religion. For example, if husband and wife are worshiping, then they should worship as a pair. If both of them worship together then it can be more beneficial. Apart from this, the position and direction of sitting during puja also has great importance. According to a popular belief in Hindu religion, the wife is always advised to sit on the right side of the husband during the puja. Generally, in any ritual the wife sits on the left side of her husband. If we talk about the scriptures, the wife is considered the husband’s better half and his beloved. It is believed that women originated from the left side of Lord Shiva and the place of Mother Parvati is also on his left side. For this reason, in rituals like marriage, the wife always sits on the left side of the husband. But when we talk about the wife sitting during worship, astrology always advises her to sit on the right side of her husband.

During religious activities and worship, the question often arises as to which side of the husband the wife should sit. Is it appropriate to sit on the right or left side of the husband? Due to lack of information, one often does not get the full results of worship due to sitting on the wrong side. In the scriptures, the wife has been called Vamangi, which means possessor of the left body part. Therefore the left part of a man’s body is considered to be that of a woman. It is said in the scriptures that a woman is a man’s lover, therefore, while sleeping, in a meeting, donating vermilion, going to Dwiraag, receiving blessings and while eating, the woman should remain on the left side of the husband. This would yield auspicious results. But despite being selfish, the scriptures say that a woman should remain on the right side in some tasks. It is said in the scriptures that at the time of Kanyadaan, marriage, Yajnakarma, Jaatkarma, Namkaran and Annaprashan, the wife should sit on the right side of the husband. The logic behind this belief is that in worldly activities, the wife sits on the left side of the husband. Because this work is considered a feminine work. Yagya, Kanyadaan, marriage, all these works are considered transcendental and are considered male dominated. Therefore, in these rituals, there is a rule to sit on the right side of the wife. Therefore, if you do the work by sitting in the direction prescribed for the work, then you will get the full results of the puja.

Even during any havan or religious ritual, women alone do not become the main host. It is considered mandatory for her husband to be with her. This is prohibited in the scriptures. At the time of creation, both men and women were created together and at the same time. There is no difference between the two. A husband is incomplete without his wife. She neither has the right to perform Yagya alone nor to offer sacrifices. The wife is one half of the husband’s body. The essence of both the words is the same. According to which a husband is incomplete without his wife. It is the wife who completes her husband’s life. Provides him with happiness. Takes care of her family. And gives him all the happiness that he deserves. The relationship between husband and wife has been said to be very important all over the world. No matter what the society is like. No matter how modern people become, the form of husband-wife relationship remains the same. Made of love and mutual understanding.
