Is upbringing responsible for shaping a person’s character?

The character of any person is formed by his thoughts. Whatever thoughts come to our mind, our actions will also be like that and our actions will form our character. A person’s character remains alive not only during life but also after death. The environment around us influences our thoughts that build character. If we sit in the company of good society and people, our thoughts will also be high. Our education also strengthens our thoughts, hence it is important for every child to get education. Our parents lay the foundation of values in our life since childhood and then our personality develops in the same direction. Although at present most of the parents inspire their children to become great mathematicians, scientists, doctors, engineers etc., but it is not at all possible that every child becomes great in his/her field, but we want to educate every child to be truthful, obedient, Can definitely become a philanthropist. Being the first teacher, every parent should inspire their child to become an ideal. Parents should teach their children to love animals and birds, protect trees and plants and respect their elders. The character of any child is his biggest asset and he should protect it throughout his life. Only a person of character can lead and guide the society, nation and the world properly. No country and society can progress as long as any part of that country and society is illiterate. It is only through education that the country and society can progress. Can be changed.

Swami Vivekananda has described a man’s character as his real wealth, that is, character cannot be fulfilled by money, fame, name, scholarship etc. Because if any person does not have good character then everything else is useless. Swami Vivekananda says that if character is developed in a child then other things happen automatically. To build character, a person should have a contented nature. Satisfaction means that humans have control over their desires and aspirations. A cultured person always keeps his senses under his control, due to which he always has a feeling of satisfaction. On the other hand, the desire to get more corrupts a person and a corrupt person becomes a slave of material things, whereas a cultured person makes these things his slave.

When a person comes in contact with a person who is more intelligent, talented, learned and of good character than him, these qualities automatically emerge in him. He becomes worthy of respect. When a person lives directly with saints and great men, it is direct satsang, but when he studies the autobiographies and best books of great men, he indirectly gets the benefit of satsang, which is necessary for goodwill. . Man can try to improve his nature through satsang, so that goodwill can be maintained. God is such an inner friend of man that as soon as any bad habits and thoughts arise in the mind, he inspires us to avoid evil by creating feelings of fear, doubt and shame. Similarly, as soon as the thought of doing a good work comes, a wave of joy and happiness arises in the mind. This inspiration is also from God. Affection and sympathy are absolutely essential for goodwill. If affection and sympathy are not included, goodwill will not exist. Apart from this, even if success and failure of any work is discussed, without affection and sympathy even success will turn into failure or it will not be achieved at all. Those who are cruel, harsh and insensitive, these faults of theirs will become thorns in their path.

The biggest asset of a human being in this world is character. Everything else is going to come and go. If character is gone from life then everything is gone. Therefore, we should be conscious of our character. One should avoid the company of wrong and bad people. Associate with good people as much as possible. Character has special importance in maintaining all the virtues of human life and keeping distance from bad qualities. A person without character cannot become an object of praise even after being a scholar. Humility, modesty, gentleness, best human qualities are the definitions of character. Complete knowledge becomes void only when a person is unable to put them into practice due to the fall of character. No matter how big a school or university one studies, one can undoubtedly be counted among the ranks of excellence, but if one is unable to control one’s character, then one’s education is of no value.
