Why is Guru Mantra given in the right ear only?

Mantra is a collection of words, through which one can achieve desired goals and destroy negative obstacles. When a person takes initiation, the Guru tells him the secret mantra in his right ear only, which is why the right ear is considered more sacred than the left. As a result of Guru Mantra, the disciple makes spiritual progress. Many times, name chanting and mantra chanting are considered the same. In both Namjap and Mantrajap, a letter, word, mantra or sentence is chanted repeatedly. A Bijamantra is the seed of the mantra. This spreads the science of Beej Mantra rapidly. The power of a mantra lies in its seed. Chanting the mantra is effective only when suitable seeds are selected. The seed awakens the power of the deity of the mantra. In Sanatan Dharma, no worship ritual is complete without mantras. Mantras are definitely chanted in every religious ritual. There has been a tradition of reciting and chanting mantras in Sanatan Dharma since the Vedic period. Special importance of chanting mantra has been mentioned in religious scriptures. Along with religious importance, many scientific benefits of chanting mantra have also been mentioned. Chanting mantras is considered best to please God.

There are three types of chanting. Verbal chanting – When the mantra is chanted recitingly, it comes under the category of verbal chanting.
Upanshu chanting – When the mantra is chanted with the tongue and lips in such a way that only the lips seem to be vibrating and the pronunciation of the mantra is heard only by oneself, then such chanting comes in the category of Upanshu chanting.
Mental chanting- As the name suggests, this chanting is done only from within. To chant in this way, meditation posture is done in Sukhasana or Padmasana. Before chanting the mantra, purification is necessary, hence chanting should be done only after retiring from daily activities and taking bath etc. The place of chanting should also be cleaned thoroughly and Chanting should be done while sitting on a clean asana. After chanting, the asana should not be left here and there nor should it be removed from the feet. The seat should be kept safely at one place.
Kush posture is considered best for chanting mantra, because Kush is a good conductor of heat, due to which energy gets absorbed in our body while chanting mantra.

Which rosary should one chant?

Tulsi rosary is best for normal chanting, but if chanting is done for the accomplishment of any task then the rosary should be taken according to the said deity. For example, Rudraksh is considered best for Lord Shiva and crystal or lotus garland is considered best for Goddess Lakshmi. To chant the mantra, a quiet place should be chosen so that there is no obstruction of any kind in the chanting and the attention does not get distracted.

Early morning is the best time for chanting, because at this time the environment remains calm, pure and positive. If you always chant, then you should chant the mantra at the same place and at a fixed time every day. While chanting the mantra, Do not keep the rosary open. The rosary should always be kept covered inside the Gaumukhi. While buying the Jaap rosary, ensure that it should have 108 beads and there should be a knot in the middle of each bead. So that there is no error in the number while chanting, one should chant by keeping in mind the image of the deity for whom one is chanting and one must complete the chanting of at least one rosary daily.
