How to make old age happy?

The human body does not always remain the same. After childhood, youth, middle age and then old age. Nobody wants us to go to this stage. But this is a routine and one has to bear it. Blurred vision, wrinkles all over the body and face, unclear speech, helpless steps, inability to digest food, all these symptoms are not liked by anyone. On top of that, the old age of the daughter and daughter-in-law makes life haram. But by paying attention to some things, old age can be made pleasant.

(1) To be physically independent,,

With time, our body parts also start becoming loose. But if we are strong in our mind then we do not let them reach this situation. This condition of our body does not develop in a day. If we remain active while we are young, then even in old age we will have the strength to do our own work. We will be able to cook our own food, make our own bed, do our own body work like bathing etc. We will be able to clean our own clothes. If we put these small tasks on others, we become a burden. If while we are young we develop the habit of doing all this work ourselves, then this habit develops in us. Then in old age we do not have to face anyone.

(2) Take care of your diet,,

Food and drink are important for our body at every stage. But if we improve our eating habits in our youth, we will not have to suffer from physical diseases in old age. Always make a habit of eating simple food. If you feel like eating something spicy, eat it occasionally. Wrong eating habits cause diseases in our body, which trouble us even at a young age. In old age, one feels more like eating something spicy. In such a situation, fulfill your hobbies sometimes.

(3) Remembrance of the Lord,,

This habit of not remembering God in old age is inculcated from youth itself. Always try to make yourself a believer to some extent. You may not believe in God, but develop the habit of enjoying God’s hymns. If you develop this habit from your youth, then in old age you will not be able to stop yourself from remembering God. And there is no doubt that this will make your old age better.

(4) Attachment to one’s family,,

Always love your daughter-in-law, son, grandchildren. If you love your daughter a little less, it will not make any difference to you. Because the daughter understands every reaction of the parents. But it takes time to accept the daughter-in-law who is someone else’s daughter. And the stick of your old age is your daughter-in-law. Therefore, love your daughter-in-law more than your son. Take care of children. Bring a small gift for them from time to time. The more you take care of them, the more they will take care of you. Never speak bitter words to them.

(5) maintain kinship,,

When the web of relationships surrounds us, we do not realize when and how we forget our sorrows. Friendship is also a kinship, which adds color to our life. Choose good friends while you are young. Always maintain good relations with your relatives. Visit their house from time to time and invite them to your place too. If this continues till old age, your old age will never let you feel lonely.

(6) Mind your own business,,

Most of the people do not have any work after reaching a certain age, so they keep wandering here and there the whole day. This thing is not good. This habit does not allow us to live anywhere. This spreads discord. And when the matter reaches the ears of the family members, their respect is also at stake. We should mind our own business right from our youth. One should give up the habit of interfering in anything done by others. When two people are talking, the habit of interrupting, the habit of giving advice without asking for it, the habit of abusing while talking, the habit of gossiping, should be given up from youth itself. Otherwise these bad habits continue with us till old age.

(7) To be content in mind,,

Contentment is the ultimate wealth, contentment is the ocean of happiness. Many people remain dissatisfied despite having everything in life. Man’s desires can never be fulfilled. Even the king and the king could never fulfill his wish. Even God succumbed to desires. We should always be satisfied with whatever we have got. If we have this habit since childhood, then half of our sorrow will go away in old age. All suffering in old age is due to desires. The desire to eat more, the desire to travel more, the desire for more money, and the desire to get more respect. These are the desires whose non-fulfillment makes a person unhappy. The more we fulfill our desires, the more they keep increasing.

If we learn to do these small experiments from childhood itself, then perhaps we will not have to cry in old age. Just as we enjoyed all the stages of the body, we will also learn to enjoy old age. And when we leave this world, people will remember us for our goodness.
