How to teach the mind to be happy?

Our mind is like a blotting paper. Whatever feelings are placed on him, he absorbs them. Our mind becomes similar to the person we associate this mind with. Even his way of speaking, his habit of walking, and his actions are captured by us. That is why we should always take the company of positive people. We should associate ourselves with the person who has a healthy mentality. If you make some rules and adopt some methods, then you will find yourself happier than others in this fast-paced world. However, for this it is very important to have strong determination. If you make some small changes in your life, you will soon start seeing changes in your life. There is no need to worry about bad thoughts coming to your mind. You just do one thing, that is to think of a good thought or keep a good sentence ready to speak to yourself as soon as you wake up in the morning. Like I am very happy today, my wish will be fulfilled today or I am a person with very good thoughts. Money is needed to live life, but nowadays people have forgotten the happiness of their life in the pursuit of earning money. After time passes we realize that we have lost something very precious. One of the biggest achievements of our life is to live a happy life. A happy life is not achieved only by money, for this we need change and management in many areas. To make life and mind happy, first of all you have to focus on your energy. Don’t waste it just like that. Consider your energy like money in an account, the more you spend, the less it will decrease and the more you save, the more it will increase. You will also have to spend your energy in appropriate amount according to age, sleep, stress level and different areas of life.

It is important to have a balanced diet for good health and good life. The diet we take should be such that it propels our body and mind in the right direction. To have more energy, one should eat a balanced diet including fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, low-fat dairy. A man becomes what he eats. Sleep at least eight hours every night. Because unless you get adequate amount of sleep you cannot do any work with concentration. Lack of sleep affects our entire day to day. Lack of sleep can lead to serious health conditions, as well as negatively impact your mood, motivation and energy levels. Getting good sleep is a healthy habit. If you start sleeping well, you will start seeing its effect in a few days.

The ups and downs of good people have a huge impact on your life, how you live with people and what their thinking is. Positive thinkers will force you to think positively, but if you live with people who always find faults and think negatively, then you will also start thinking the same. Negative thinkers will completely drain your energy. One has to protect oneself from such people. Lord Krishna says in Bhagavad Gita, those who are moderate in food and entertainment, balanced in work and regulated in sleep can reduce all suffering by practicing yoga. Nowadays you ignore your lifestyle and way of living. Get out of bed and go to work, but do you really think about how to live the rest of the day? You sleep late and are not fully aware of how long you sleep. Skipping breakfast and then overeating at dinner. Instead of sleeping on time, they watch dramas and serials. Not only this, you also engage in excessive laziness or intense exercise. Both are harmful for health. This kind of attitude leads to physical illnesses and psychosomatic problems (like depression). Restraint is a very important concept of Yoga. So how to practice restraint? First and foremost, food. As will be my food, so will be my mood. As will be my thoughts, so will be my daily routine, so will be my behaviour. Therefore, it is important to eat such food, which helps in keeping the mind balanced. The quantity should not be reduced because you do not like the food. Similarly, it should not be more than what your body needs. You have to find a balance.

When you realize that you are breathing rapidly while doing some work, take a break from that work. Allow breathing to return to normal before resuming work. You should sleep on time and wake up on time. It is not good to sleep at odd hours. It should be kept in mind that night is for sleeping and day is for working. These are all very basic rules, which should be followed to maintain a balanced state of mind. There is a need to strike the right balance between family and personal life. Many people run after money and end up not being able to give time to themselves and their family. Such an unbalanced life can lead to disturbances in family and personal health. The opposite version of this situation is also possible and it is equally harmful. This second form is seen in those people who spend all their energy only on family activities. These people also forget to take care of their health. If you have something to say, do not speak in anger. First calm down and then present your point. This is of utmost importance for managing your relationships. If you feel angry, go for a walk. Living with nature helps in bringing balance in behaviour.

Just as we keep in mind the nutritional value while preparing food, similarly while making friends, we should also keep in mind the thoughts of each person. The happiness of our mind is our own choice. If we decide that no one can make us sad, then really no one can make us sad. Always try to listen well, try to speak well, and try to understand well.
