It is said that colors also have special significance in Navratri. This time, worship Maa Durga by wearing special colored clothes to worship the nine forms of Maa Durga. There is special significance in wearing clothes of nine colors in nine days and worshiping the Mother Goddess.

1. Maa Shailputri-

The name of the first incarnation of Maa Durga is Maa Shailputri. Along with setting up the Kalash, they are also worshiped on the first day. Mother Shailputri was born as a girl in the house of mountain king Himalaya. That is why they are called by this name. The literal meaning of Shailputri is daughter of the mountain. She is known as Sati, Bhavani, Parvati and Hemvati. The goddess has a crescent moon on her forehead, a trident in her right hand and a lotus in her left hand. His rider is Nandi the bull. Shailputri likes orange colour. It is a symbol of enthusiasm, success and happiness. On the first day, the mother started the war with full enthusiasm to eliminate evil and with the belief of success. 2. Maa Brahmacharini-

The name of the second incarnation of Maa Durga is Brahmacharini. They are worshiped on the second day of Navratri. Brahmacharini means one who follows the conduct prescribed by Brahma. She walks barefoot. She carries chanting material in her right hand and kamandal in her left hand. Mother Brahmacharini likes white colour. Because white color calms our violent thoughts. They are a symbol of purity and peace. Mother Brahmacharini teaches us that by acting peacefully in every situation of life, we can achieve victory in every direction.

3. Maa Chandraghanta-

The third form of Maa Durga is Maa Chandraghanta. He is worshiped on the third day of Navratri. Because the shape of the mother’s forehead is like an hourglass, it is called Chandraghanta. Mother Chandraghanta’s rider is a tigress. Mother has ten hands and three eyes. He holds a trident, a mace and a sword in his four left hands. The fifth hand is in Vara Mudra. She holds a lotus, arrow, bow and rosary in her right fourth hand. Mother Chandraghanta likes red color. The red color which is considered a symbol of auspiciousness and bravery, makes our body healthy and mind happy. This red color is a symbol of happiness, prosperity and also represents wealth, immense wealth and prosperity. Maa Chandraghanta teaches us that the happiness of our mind makes us prosperous.

4. Maa Kushmanda-

The fourth form of Maa Durga is Maa Kushmanda. Kushmanda means pumpkin. Mother has the ability to generate the entire universe, hence she was named Kushmanda. He has eight hands, hence he is known as Ashtabhuja. His rider is a tiger. In his hands are trishul, chakra, sword, hook, mace, bow, arrow and honey. Mother Kushmanda likes royal blue color. 5. Maa Skandhama-

Maa Skandhmata is the fifth incarnation of Maa Durga. Skandhamata means mother of Skandha Kumar. Skanda Kumar is another name of Lord Kartikeya. It is said that she is also called the goddess of fire. She is seen sitting on a lotus. She holds a lotus flower in both her hands, Abhaya Mudra in one hand and Skanda in the other. Maa Skandhama likes yellow color. Yellow definitely symbolizes liveliness, happiness and celebration. People who are blind to other colors can usually see yellow. 6. Maa Katyayani-

Maa Katyayani is the sixth incarnation of Maa Durga. Katyayani is the daughter of sage Katyayan. For this reason they were given this name. Katyayani was born to destroy the bull demon Mahishasura. Mother’s ride is a lion. They like green color very much. 7. Maa Kalratri-

The seventh form of Maa Durga is Maa Kalratri. Jataki is worshiped on the seventh day of Navratri. These goddesses are worshiped for supernatural powers, Tantra Siddhi and Mantra Siddhi. She is seen sitting on a donkey with disheveled hair and three eyes. He has four hands. He likes grey. The color gray is often associated with fairness and balance. Furthermore, according to Hindu mythology, brown color has a deep connection with Lord Shiva, one of the major deities. Shiva is often depicted rubbing ashes on his body, making his complexion appear brown. Mother Kalratri teaches us that if we have to assume a terrible form to root out evils, then we should do so.

8.Maa Mahagauri-

Maa Mahagauri is the eighth incarnation of Maa Durga. They are worshiped on the eighth day of Navratri i.e. on Durgashtami. This is the most excellent form of Parvati. When Mother Parvati performed rigorous penance to get Lord Shiva as her husband, her body turned black. Then she was called Mahagauri. Mahagauri has four arms. Mahagauri likes purple color. Purple color often carries a feeling of mystery and spirituality. In many cultures, the color purple is associated with spirituality and is believed to have a calming effect on the mind. 9. Maa Siddhidatri-

Maa Siddhidatri is the ninth incarnation of Maa Durga. The form of Maa Kalratri is extremely terrifying to look at. But mother is always considered to give auspicious results. That is why she is also called Shubhankari. He has four hands. There is a lotus flower in one hand and a conch in the other hand. They like peacock green color. The dark blue and green color of peacock feathers is a symbol of happiness, peace and prosperity. This color also increases creativity. Mother Siddhidatri is the giver of every accomplishment. Wearing the color of mother’s choice on the last day means that on this day the mother has won over evil. And the whole world started dancing with happiness. Like a peacock dances happily.
