People often ask a question to scholars that why do not all people born on the same day and at the same time have the same fate? Some are born in a rich family and some are born in a poor family. Some are born healthy and some with serious diseases in their body. Some live long and some live short.

The answer to this question has been presented very beautifully in the illustrations through the story of a king. Every living being’s destiny i.e. the karma of the previous birth is different and he has to suffer the effects of the same in his next birth. To check the truth, a king called a meeting of learned astrologers and asked – According to my horoscope, I have a chance of becoming a king, but at the same time and moment in which I was born, many people would have been born who would have become kings. Couldn’t make it. Why? What is the reason for this? No one had an answer to this question of the king. There was silence in the assembly. Then an elder stood up from the middle of the gathering and said – Maharaj, no one here has the answer to your question but I will tell you how you will get the answer to your question. The king started listening carefully to the old man. The old man said – If you go alone to a dense forest far away from here, you will meet a Mahatma, he can answer your question. The king, filled with curiosity, went into the dense forest alone as per the advice of the old man.

After traveling for hours, he saw a Mahatma in the forest, who was sitting near a pile of fire and eating embers. As soon as the frightened king reached the Mahatma, the Mahatma scolded him and said that I do not have time to answer your question, I am forced by my hunger. There is another Mahatma ahead of here among the hills, you can get the answer from him. The king’s curiosity increased further. The king moved towards the hills. It became quite dark while walking. After walking for miles on the hills, the king saw the Mahatma. Mahatma was eating his own flesh by scratching it with tongs. As soon as the Mahatma saw the king, he scolded him and said – I am restless due to hunger. I don’t have time to answer your question. Go ahead, on the other side of the hills, among the tribals, a child is going to be born who will live only for five minutes. Reach before sunrise, the boy can answer. The king quickly moved towards the village. The king reached the tribal couple’s house before sunrise and ordered that as soon as the child was born, he should be presented before me along with the umbilical cord. After waiting for some time the child was born and he was brought before the king. As soon as he saw the king, the child said laughingly – King, I also do not have time, but still listen to your answer.

You, I and the two Mahatmas with whom you have come, all four of us were brother princes seven lives ago. While hunting, we got lost in the forest. After wandering hungry and thirsty for three days, we suddenly found a bundle of flour in the forest. Somehow we baked four chapattis with that flour and were about to take our chapattis and sit down to eat when a Mahatma arrived there suffering from hunger and thirst. He said to the brother who was eating embers, Son, I have been hungry for ten days. Give me some of your bread so that my life can be saved. On hearing this, Bhaiya said angrily – If I give it to you, will I eat fire? Let’s run away from here.

After this, when the Mahatma asked for bread from the meat-eating brother, he also scolded the Mahatma and sent him away saying that if I give you my bread, will I tear off my flesh and eat it?
The Mahatma, helpless due to hunger, came to me. Begged for bread, but I also chased them away and said that if I give you my bread, will I die of hunger? Mahatma reached to you with the last hope. I also appealed to you for mercy. With a very happy heart, you gave half of your bread to the Mahatma with respect. Mahatma ji was very happy after getting the bread and while leaving he said – May your future flourish with your actions and behaviour. The child said – On the basis of this incident, today all four of us are suffering our respective karmas. Many creatures are born on earth at one time, but everyone has a different destiny which shapes their fate. Saying this, the child’s breathing stopped.

The king proceeded towards his royal palace and became convinced that astrology is basically the science of duty and behavior. Hence, the fate of a person is different. Here the logic that cuts against it arises that the planetary positions of birth are based on the accumulated karmas only. And in those circumstances, the fate of the person born is determined. When our karma itself is not the same, then how can our fate be the same. Every human being is different in himself. The experiences of every person born in his previous births are different. Their memories are different, their struggles are different, their marriages are different, even if they are the same in this birth, on the basis of which their concept and personality are different. According to those personalities, the memories stored in their subconscious are different. The functioning of the subconscious is different. As Hindu followers know that the soul is immortal, it never dies, the body changes. So, when the soul gets separated from the body, the memories of the soul do not disappear completely. Memories of the subconscious soul. If the memories of the soul had ended then there would be no ancestors, nor would they remember their clan. There would be no memories of ghosts and they would not be reacting separately. Had he not been guiding the followers and disciples, no child would have told about his previous life even after leaving his body. In this way, these memories remain connected with the person’s soul and remain safe in the subconscious after birth. Sometimes a dream occurs. They show some place or scene and after a few days the person realizes that hey, I have been here before in a dream. Or suddenly he feels that hey, I have been here before, even though I had never had a dream. This is from a previous life. There are memories which are safe in the subconscious.

It is said that due to the principle of karma there is a difference in the fate of twins. Because a person has to suffer the consequences of his deeds in the next life. The same thing applies to twins also. Even though there is a difference of a few minutes in their birth time, the actions done by them take them in different directions. In the horoscope of twins, especially the place of birth, date of birth and day are similar. But there is a difference in appearance, ideologies, desires and incidents happening with children. Not only this, the personality of both is also different.
