There is a description of the churning of the ocean in mythological stories. The churning of the ocean took place between the gods and demons. Whatever things came out of this churning of the ocean were divided between the two. According to religious texts, once due to the curse of Maharishi Durvasa, heaven became devoid of glory (richness, wealth, splendor etc.). Then all the gods went to Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu told him the solution to churn the ocean along with the demons and also told that by churning the ocean, nectar will emerge, by consuming which you will become immortal. When the gods told this to Bali, the king of demons, he also got ready to churn the ocean. Vasuki Naag’s neti was made and the ocean was churned with the help of Mandarachal mountain.
(1)Vish, poison
Poison was the first thing to come out in the churning. This means that God in the form of nectar is present in the mind of every human being. If we desire nectar then first of all we have to churn our mind. When we churn our mind, only bad thoughts will come out first. These bad thoughts are poison. We should surrender these bad thoughts to God and become free from them. When it came to be divided, both demons and demons refused to take it. At last Lord Shiva swallowed this poison in his throat. Due to which his throat turned blue and his name became Neelkanth.
(2)Kamdhenu cow, Kamdhenu emerged second in the churning of the ocean. This cow was full of amazing powers. Later this cow was given to the sages. She was the one who produced the ingredients for Agnihotra. Hence the Brahminist sages accepted her. Kamdhenu is the symbol of purity of mind. Because after the poison is removed the mind becomes pure. In such a situation it becomes even easier to reach God.
(3)Uchchaishrava horse
During the churning of the ocean, the horse Uchchaishrava emerged at third place. Its color was white. Bali, the king of demons, kept it with himself. From the point of view of life management, the Uchchaishrava horse is a symbol of the speed of the mind. The speed of the mind is considered the most. If you have to pause. Only then is union with God possible.
(4)Airavat the elephant
Airavat the elephant came fourth in the churning of the ocean, it had four big tusks. His brightness was more than that of Kailash. Airavat the elephant was kept by Devraj Indra. Airavata elephant is a symbol of intelligence and its four tusks are greed, attachment, lust and anger. Only with pure and pure intelligence can we control these vices. Indra got this elephant which later became his ride. This white elephant is the vehicle of Indra.
(5)Kaustubh Mani,,
Kaustubh Mani emerged fifth in the churning of the ocean. Lord Vishnu wore this gem in his crown. Kaustubh Mani is a symbol of devotion. When all the vices are gone from your mind, then only devotion will remain. Only this devotion will be accepted by God.(6)Kalpataru Vriksha:
The wish-fulfilling Kalpavriksha emerged in the sixth order in the churning of the ocean. The gods established it in heaven. Kalpavriksha is a symbol of your desires. The life management formula associated with Kalpavriksha is that if you are trying to attain Amrit (God) then give up all your desires. If there are desires in the mind then attaining God is not possible. Parijat flower grows on this tree. Indra established it in Surkanan. In Skandpuran and Vishnu Puran, Parijat itself has been called Kalpavaksh.
(7)Apsara Rammbha
An Apsara named Rambha emerged seventh in the churning of the ocean. She was wearing beautiful clothes and jewellery. His gait was captivating. She also went to the gods. Apsara is a symbol of the lust hidden in the mind. When you are engaged in a particular purpose, desires try to distract your mind. In that situation it is very important to have control over the mind. She was a skilled dancer. To whom Indra gave a place in his Indraloka.
(8)Mother Lakshmi:
Goddess Lakshmi came eighth in the churning of the ocean. Demons, gods, sages etc. all wanted Lakshmi to meet them, but Lakshmi chose Lord Vishnu. From the point of view of life management, Lakshmi is the symbol of wealth, glory, majesty and other worldly pleasures. When we want to attain nectar, then worldly pleasures also attract us, but we should not pay attention towards them and concentrate only on devotion to God.
(9)Varuni Devi:
Varuni Devi emerged ninth from the churning of the ocean, with the permission of God she was taken away by the demons. Varuni means liquor i.e. intoxication. This is also an evil. Whatever the form of intoxication, it is bad for the body and society. If you want to find God, first of all you have to give up intoxication, only then encounter with God is possible. This goddess appeared during churning with Sura. Which was given to the demons.
(10) Moon:
Lord Shiva wore the moon which emerged in the tenth order in the churning of the ocean, on his head. Moon is a symbol of coolness. When your mind is free from bad thoughts, greed, lust, intoxication etc., at that time it will become cool like the moon. Such a mind is required to attain God. Only a devotee with such a mind attains God. In astrology, Moon is considered to be the factor of water and mind.(11)Parijat Flower:
This flower is considered to be the most beautiful among all the flowers. This flower has special importance in worship. All its parts are used in different ways in worship. The gods kept it with themselves. Many medicines are prepared from this flower.
When Dhanvantari Dev appeared from the churning, he also had the nectar pot in his hand. A battle broke out to get it. Later, to get the nectar from the demons, Lord Vishnu took the form of Mohini and gave the nectar to the gods due to which they became immortal.
(12)Panchjanya conch:
Panchjanya conch emerged in the twelfth order from the churning of the ocean. Lord Vishnu took it. Conch is considered a symbol of victory and its sound is also considered very auspicious. When you become one with Amrit (God)When you step away, there is emptiness in your mind.That means it is filled with sound. It is in this situation that you encounter God. The conch was obtained by churning. Which was dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
(13)Lord Dhanvantari:
He is called the father of Ayurveda. It is believed that Dhanvantari is a part of Lord Vishnu. For public welfare, he imparted his knowledge to sages and physicians. According to belief, Lord Dhanvantari appeared from the churning of the ocean on the day of Dhanteras. Therefore, special worship of Lord Dhanvantari is done on this day. At the end of the churning, Lord Dhanvantari emerged with the nectar pot in his hands. Lord Dhanvantari is the symbol of a healthy body and pure mind. When your body is healthy and mind is pure, only then you will attain God within it.
(14)Amrit Kalash,
Lord Dhanvantari appeared from the churning of the ocean with a pot of golden nectar.But all the gods and demons wanted to become immortal through nectar. They all started running after him. Meanwhile, nectar spilled from the nectar pot fell at 16 places. Out of which four fell on holy places on earth and the remaining 12 fell on heaven.
The four places on earth where Amrit fell were Allahabad, Nashik, Ujjain and Haridwar. Mahakumbh Snan is organized at these places every 12th year.
It is said that if the forms of these gems are brought home and kept, then like heaven, there is no dearth of wealth, opulence and splendor in the house. If Samudra Manthan is seen from the perspective of a way of life, we will find that directly -No one gets nectar (God) directly. For that, first the mind has to remove its disorders and control its senses.
