If you feel that my ego is growing further, then let it grow. Look around to see how many people are doing better service than you. Increase your ego further by looking at him. Your ego should grow so much that the entire universe gets absorbed in it. We suffer from our ego when we limit it or want something for ourselves. When you say that I belong to God. Whatever he wants, he gets it done however he wants. As soon as such a feeling comes or becomes spontaneity, you will find that ego does not exist at all. We will live as if we don’t exist. Everything is happening. You will feel a lightness. If we want to get away from ego i.e. pain and suffering, there is only one way, simplicity. Become a boy or a girl. Your intellect is always a slave to your identity. It works around whatever you identify with. People identify with things they have never seen, and their emotions become attached to these things. These things decide the direction of their life.

How does the intellect protect the ego?

For example, we all are associated with some country or the other. There was a time a hundred years ago when there were a lot of people who did not belong to any country, if you identify emotionally with something it either makes you or breaks you. It gives you tremendous power, but even the slightest mistake is over and it’s all over. It is necessary to give up ego. No matter how popular or recognized you are on the basis of your talent. But if there is ego then there will definitely be unrest somewhere. People can achieve heights by renouncing their ego. If Ravana had accepted Mandodari’s words in Ramayana and returned Mother Sita to Lord Rama with respect, perhaps there would not have been a war.

If Duryodhana had given 5 villages to Pandavas in Mahabharata, the situation of Mahabharata war would have been averted. Ego brings down a person. People under the influence of ego are unable to discern between good and bad. They do not consider right and wrong, the consequences of which are very fatal. Pride has destroyed even the angels. The man who is arrogant will surely fall one day. The one in whose hands power comes, becomes blind, dishonest, of bad character and with bad intentions. A man can swell with pride, but cannot prosper. Due to pride, man moves away from God and the people.

Everything becomes possible with our determination. Arrogance is such a feeling in which a person does not even realize when he gets trapped, hence one should always observe his life, put himself in the dock and advocate for himself. You should judge your spoken words impartially, and if you find yourself guilty, admit your mistake and apologize for that mistake in time. If you understand in time that ego has come inside you, then it will be easy to remove it.

Do not be proud of your power under any circumstances. Ego is the root cause of all big mistakes. One should not boast about wealth. Fireflies think that we are the ones giving light to this world. But as soon as the stars rise, the pride of the fireflies subsides. Then the stars feel proud that they are the ones giving light to the world, but when the moon rises, the stars also become dirty. When the sun rises, the moon also becomes dark. If the rich think about this, they will no longer be proud.

Prayer can help in reducing ego to zero. Prayer is not a mechanical thing, it is an action of the heart. In praying to God, one gets the practice of forgetting all the secrets. Do not be arrogant under any circumstances. God is the embodiment of love and can be attained only through love. God cannot be attained if there are evils like hatred, malice, anger and ego in the heart. Thinking about one’s bad qualities and remembering God’s blessings is the true prayer. Whatever we do, others can also do it, believe that. If we don’t agree, we will be considered arrogant. There is no need for religious books, temples and prayers for you, if you have given up ego. Giving up an egoistic life is renunciation and that is beauty.


It is better if life is lived without pride. The person who does not boast at all will be the happiest person in this world. Ego does not let you rise and self-respect does not let you fall. It is best not to be proud of anything. The biggest advantage of not being egoistic or arrogant is that you remain connected with people and society. People also remain connected to you. Nobody likes arrogant people. Everyone wants to maintain distance from the arrogant.
