Why is simplicity important in life?

Difficulties and troubles arise in life when man makes it complicated, difficult and more pompous. The simplicity of life is pleasant. If there is simplicity in behavior, clarity in thoughts and conduct, then there are no difficulties or problems in a person’s life.
Simplicity means representing the world in such a form in which it is realistic; creating a form different from the actual situation is creating complexity. This is how troubles arise. Ambiguity is seen everywhere, from everyday life to celebrations, marriages, festivals, from student life to social behaviour. The life of one in whom the universal reality is reflected flawlessly is ideal and exemplary. He becomes awakened and becomes an example for others. Many of his problems stay away from him and he lives a life of fun.

What we call self-respect or self-respect is the result of this simplicity of life. If we remain content with the situation we are in, we will neither have to extend our hands to others nor ask for help. Spiritual tendencies are not awakened only because people do not get leisure from external appearances. Qualities also do not develop because people consider their life successful only by showcasing themselves in an exaggerated manner and feel pride and satisfaction in the respect they get. The part of the intellect which should have been devoted to life development and awakening of spiritual powers is spent only in external irony and self-torture. This may improve the intellectual level but the spiritual level falls day by day. The financial condition of the house is not good but he wants well-dressed clothes to go out. Due to this complexity, many problems arise in family life, social and national life and human life becomes a burden. Neither he himself nor others get any happiness from that. Many difficulties like hostility in married life, discord and bitterness in family life, boredom in personal life, excitement, chaos, financial constraints, inability to complete children’s education etc. are arising only because the condition of man is much higher than what he is in. Wants to express himself in a big way. Wherever this artificiality is born, there will definitely be rudeness in life. As a result of that, the life of man will go on getting entangled in difficulties, worries and hardships.

If this egoism of a man ends, then he comes back to his simple life. He does not suffer any loss in this. It is not something that people will consider small. There was great simplicity and simplicity in the life of sages, due to which their pride is universal. In fact, artificiality, boasting and arrogance are condemned. Fake people should be considered backward.
It is absolutely necessary to include fundamental simplicity in diet, living-tolerance, dress-dress, thoughts and life-building. Man’s life is a purpose which should not be allowed to go aimless. It is the basic need of the soul to develop a human being with inner inspiration. In order that the exchange of affection, love, intimacy, kindness, compassion, generosity, cordiality and tolerance remains in his life, it is necessary that his life remains pure and simple. This will not weaken his morale. He will not be discouraged, dependent and indifferent. Such a divine image will continue to develop in his life, in whose proximity his above mentioned human qualities will continue to flourish and converge.

Complexity is used in external treatment of life-instincts, simplicity makes the soul-level, the conscience vast. The practical form of truth is simplicity. By this man’s heart expands, feelings are refined. As his instincts become inner, in the same way he starts seeing the world in a very clean and clear form. If there is no impurity in the heart and there is no arrogance left in the external life, the life of that man is full of resolute calm and divine talent.

There was a very innocent lazy boy, he did not want to do any work. Just used to eat food, roam around and sleep. One day someone told him that there is an ashram where nothing has to be done and you get two meals and snacks every day. You go and live there. I thought of going and staying. And then that innocent lazy boy left his whole worldly life and started living in that ashram.

Guru ji used to live in the ashram, he used to give discourses to everyone for some time, that lazy boy used to listen, the rest of the time he used to rest and then he used to sleep after having a full stomach.
That’s how the boy’s day passed. One day nothing was made in that ashram. Didn’t get breakfast at breakfast time, he thought if he didn’t get breakfast, he will get food. Now he did not get food even at the time of meal. The boy ran to Guru ji and asked why food was not cooked today. Guru ji said that son today is Ekadashi and all the members of the ashram are fasting and you too are fasting today, food will not be cooked today. That boy was lazy and he also felt very hungry. He told Guruji that I will not fast, I am hungry, I will eat food.

Guruji said, okay go, bring the goods from the store and make it by taking it outside and not in the ashram. But remember, after preparing the food, the first thing is to offer food to the God and then you get the prasad. He started cooking food, after it was ready, he started saying, God come, come, offer bhog. Now when he felt that God is not coming, then he started saying, I know you have a habit of eating well, but I could not make it. And I don’t even know how to cook good food, but come and eat whatever is dry and dry.

God was very pleased with his simplicity and appeared to the boy. He saw that God had come and Mother Sita had also come with him. But the boy had prepared food only for two people, one for himself and the other for God and now because Mother Sita had also come with God, he placed that food in front of Mother Sita and God to accept. Lord Shri Ram and Mother Sita had food, and after that when they started leaving, this innocent lazy boy said that Lord, it was very nice that you came and gave me darshan, I did not get anything to eat. But no problem, but I have a request to you that next time you come, please tell me how many people will come so that I can prepare food for that many people. Lord Shri Ram smiled in his mind and then went into deep meditation.

The boy went to the ashram, the day passed and then the day of Ekadashi came and this time he took grains and reached the river bank to cook food for three-four people. And he prepared the food with great joy and started waiting for the Lord to come and offer the food.

This time the boy sees that Lord Shri Ram has come with the entire Ram Darwar like, Mother Sita, Lakshman, Bharat, Hanuman ji and all the people have come. The boy had prepared food for 3-4 people and this time also there was less food. The boy was disappointed and placed the food in front of the Lord. He had the food and then went away and this time too the boy remained hungry again.

Now the boy again went to the ashram, the day passed and again the day of Ekadashi came and this time he started saying to Guru ji that Guru ji I want a little more grain this time. Guruji started wondering what he does with so much food grains, whether he sells it or not, then he said that it is okay, he is troubled by hunger. The boy said no Guruji, I am not troubled by hunger, many people come with the Lord, they also have to eat.

Guruji felt that the boy has gone mad, but Guruji thought that let’s go and see what the boy does with this grain. That innocent boy reached the bank of the river with grains and this time he did not prepare food, he thought that every time the Lord brings more people, this time all those who come will make and enjoy themselves and then started calling the Lord with love.

Guruji was secretly watching all this that he had not cooked food and was calling the Lord. But the boy saw that this time many people have come with the Lord, so he folded his hands in front of the Lord and said, “Lord, forgive me, so many people are coming, I do not know the number and I do not have the courage to do so much.” Cook food for all the people. You yourself come, cook, eat and enjoy. The Lord smiles and prepares food along with all the people who came with him.

Guruji watches all this secretly and then comes to the boy and says what are you doing. The boy says that Guruji, you are not able to see that Lord Shri Ram has arrived, Mother Sita has come, Hanuman ji has come and all the other people have also come, food is being prepared.

Guruji said that he has gone mad, I cannot see anyone. The boy got angry and said, Lord, what are you doing, one, you have kept me hungry and you are not giving darshan to Guruji, who is thinking that I am mad, please see Guruji.

God said no, I can’t see him, the boy said why can’t he see, my teacher is very great, very knowledgeable and knowledgeable. God said yes he would be knowledgeable and knowledgeable but not simple like you. The simplicity that is there in you is not there in your Guruji.

The boy told this to Guruji that Lord Shriram is saying that you do not have simplicity, you are not simple like me, that’s why you cannot see.
Guruji’s eyes became moist and started crying and said that it is absolutely right that I do not have as much simplicity as you and then started apologizing, then God appeared to Guruji as well.

This story teaches us that simplicity is most important in life, the more simple we remain, the more we will progress in life. When you are simple, you smile yourself and give reason to others to smile too.

Those who become slaves of their instincts and do not consider right and wrong while trying to fulfill their desires, their soul remains weak. The more intense the pain they feel when the necessary material is not available, the more they react with the same speed. Not just one person but many others also get involved in fraud. Getting trapped in this sorrow, people start doing mischief. Freedom from this is possible only when humans reject the slavery of desires and focus only on rationality.
